“It was good for me to get away. I think I learned more about who I was, who I wanted to be, once I only had myself to depend on day-to-day,” Oli says. Lark thinks maybe that was where he went wrong. When he left home, he expected he could depend on his friends. He needed to lean on Max especially, who was once his co-conspirator but was later his navigator, his guide. There was no reason for him to go anywhere alone.
