NEWS: Amazon is shuttering WriteOn as of March 22

From the official notification:

While we have been proud over the last few years to have brought together such a vibrant, active, and creative community, unfortunately we will be closing Write On’s doors on March 22. After this date, access to Write On will be unavailable.

Your Amazon.com account will not be affected by the closure of Write On. If you don’t have any content you wish to save, no further action is required on your part.

If you do have content you wish to save, we encourage you to download your posted and drafted stories by March 22.

It’s always sad to see a writing site go away. If you’re affected by the WriteOn closure, let us know where you’ll continue posting your serials!

We’re back… #TuesdaySerial is re-opening March 7

He unlocks the door, steps inside, and turns on the lights. Everything looks in order; PJ made sure everything was cleaned up and covered before locking up at the end of last year.

Gently lifting the sheet off a large desk, he sees an old black MacBook. He plugs in the power cord, left dangling near the laptop, then opens the lid and starts it. Hearing the startup chime, he goes to get a glass of water while the computer comes back to life. In the break room, he takes down the old calendar and puts up a new one. Each Sunday has a name jotted in it. Only one of the names—his own—is familiar.

“We’re going to do this, guys,” he says, carrying his water back to the desk. He looks over at the other two desks, still covered, and makes a mental note to bring in one more desk.

Sitting down, he logs in. A browser opens, tabs containing the tools they had always used before. He adds one more tab, switches to the blog, and writes.

At the end of last year, PJ and Tony both decided to step away from #TuesdaySerial to focus on other, more important things going on around them. And so it fell to me, the last and least of the original #TuesdaySerial admins, to carry on. PJ put out a call for volunteers, and three people responded quickly (you’ll meet them soon). Still, I had things of my own going on, not the least of which is a very happy foster baby, and so the offices remained closed as 2016 waved goodbye and jammed itself in the nearest history book.

But now, it’s time to restart. We have a team, the beginnings of a schedule, and a solid infrastructure. All we need is… you. #TuesdaySerial officially re-opens the Collector on Tuesday (of course), March 7. If you’ve been continuing with a serial, or started a new one, I hope you’ll rejoin us—we have the most complete archive of serial fiction links anywhere, and it can continue to grow. We might have the biggest collection of DEBUT entries in our history, and I hope you’ll be a part of it!

#TuesdaySerial Report – December 20, 2016

Welcome to this week’s Tuesday Serial report – our final report of 2016 and our final report brought to you by the team of PJ, Tony and Larry. As we announced a couple of weeks ago, we will start 2017 with a short hiatus and Larry will carry on with Tuesday Serial, along with his new team. It’s been a great privilege for Tony and me to work on the site and help the world of serial fiction writers and readers and we wish Larry all the best with his new team!

To close out 2016, we offer up 18 new serial fiction episodes including two debuts and two conclusions.

We welcome new serials “Lance The Gallant” by J. Rodriguez and “Not Your Usual Christmas Story” by C. Golden.

And we congratulate Ellen Seltz for completing her serial “Survivor’s Trust” and Amy Notdorft for completing her serial “Secrets and Skin”.

No matter what genres you love, there’s something for you in this week’s offerings. If you’d rather read only completed serials, you’ll find some in our Graduates section (above). In our Hall of Fame, you can find serials that have been subsequently published – make an author happy and go buy one! As always, if you have questions, just let us know!

WRITERS: Do you have news to share in next week’s report? Have an idea for a guest blog post? Did your serial get published? Have some other news for everyone? Shoot us an e.mail (tuesdayserial@tuesdayserial.com) or a DM (@tuesdayserial) so we can share the good news!

We strive for 100% perfection every week (of course!), but if you happen to spot any mistakes or broken links in this week’s TuesdaySerial report, let us know! Happy reading (and writing!).
